About

FZY is a UK-based Jewish youth movement committed to social action, leadership development and providing long-lasting, fun, informal educational experiences in Israel and in the UK.

Our ideology is based on the definition of Zionism written in the constitution of the World Zionist Organisation, and is expressed through FZY’s four aims:

Magen – Defence of Jewish rights

Tzedakah – Charitable endeavour

Tarbut – Jewish and Israeli cultureAliyah Nimshechet – Moving to Israel and continuing to shape society for the better.

Our flagship gap-year programme, FZY Year Course, remains the benchmark of youth activism, consistently taking over 100 participants every year to spend 9 months in Israel volunteering, studying and experiencing what life entails to live in Israel. FZY’s one-month Israel Tour summer programme continues to offer unparalleled choice for all participants, allowing over 480 teenagers each year to connect to Israel through a variety of exciting programmes.

In the UK, FZY is reaching out every summer to its members through our dynamic summer programmes, Ofek and Kesher, whilst offering weekly opportunities for activism through the Sunday night ‘Chavurot’ as well as numerous events, social action initiatives and grass-roots volunteering throughout the year.

As we prepare proudly for our centenary year, the foremost youth movement in the British Jewish community remains focused on offering more and more Jewish youngsters the opportunities and connections to further their beliefs, ideals and values.
